Job Description

Overview

The responsible NDT Level 3 manages the NDT Workshop in regard to NDT personnel, NDT process engineering, NDT Capabilities, NDT tooling and equipment and the compliance of the company with AMC 145.A.30(f) and EN4179.

Main Tasks

  • To promote a positive Safety Culture and to ensure that Safety and Quality Policy is communicated/promoted and implemented within the Organization
  • To ensure that all elements of the SMS are properly implemented, maintained and continuously improved by fulfilling all SMS related duties and responsibilities as defined in SMS Manual
  • Development and validation of test procedures, test methods and test instructions.
  • Specification and standardisation of NDT procedures, as well as coordinating the procurement of necessary tooling and equipment.
  • Controlling and maintenance of the responsible equipment.
  • Ensuring the fulfilment of local health & safety requirements in relation to radiography practices.
  • To co-ordinate with all other operational departments to ensure the best possible performance of the NDT team by planning for the necessary resources, solving recurring issues and providing recommendations for solutions and improvement wherever necessary.
  • To organise and monitor the NDT Team roster to ensure that NDT inspections scheduled on the aircraft undergoing maintenance can be accomplished on time
  • Responsible from the compilation of the NDT written practice and compliance with it.
  • Ensuring that all NDT inspectors are trained and authorised in accordance with the company’s quality management system.
  • Performs and record quality spot checks to verify that all NDT related activities are accomplished in accordance with the applicable approved maintenance data as well as the established and accepted NDT industry standards.
  • Responsible from vetting and selecting NDT Training providers utilised by the organization.
  • Maintain the overall control over the NDT training program, including designating and approving qualified examiners, instructors and external agencies.
  • Supports and facilitates any NDT audits carried out by internal or external customers and competent authorities and define and implement any rectification actions for finding originating from such audits following the company’s Safety and Quality managements systems (SMS & QMS).
  • Responsible to expand the company’s NDT capabilities in case any new emerging NDT methods are developed and accepted by the aviation industry.
  • Liaise with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Type Certificate (TC) holders to develop and improve accuracy and efficiency during the accomplishment of such tasks.
  • Keeps his own NDT certification and approval current as established in the company’s processes and procedure as well as EN4179.
  • As required carry out NDT inspections on Aircraft as per operational requirements in the capacity of Level 2.
  • Any other task that might assigned from time to time. 
  • Provide daily progress update.  
  • Support the organization in the expansion of capabilities. 
  • Engage in other duties and/or projects as may be assigned from time to time.

Position Key Accountabilities

  • Mandatory use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) according to company standards.
  • Actively Identify and/or remove safety hazards in his work area of responsibility.
  • Reports any safety, risk, hazards or paper discrepancies to superior.
  • Absolute adherence to company standards and truly living SMS and STOP campaign.
  • Strict adherence to all tool control processes and procedures Compliance with AMC 145.A.30(f) and EN4179.
  • On time performance of NDT inspections.
  • Health and Safety compliance with the local national health & safety regulations.
  • The performance of the NDT tasks at EEM
  • 6S and housekeeping of the responsible working area.

Position Key Requirements and Competencies

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an authorised EN4179 Level 2 NDT inspector in an EASA Part 145 organisation in 3 NDT methods or more
  • EN4179 certification Level 3 and be eligible for an NDT Level 3 authorisation as per EEM quality management system.
  • Possess high leadership and coaching skills.
  • Be IT literate.
  • Good command of the English Language. 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be a good team player.
  • Have a can-do attitude.
  • Be ready to work flexible hours and weekend if deem necessary.
